Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Policy Statement 

 

Apna Research is committed to operating its business in a manner that is both sensitive and responsible with proper regard to its legal obligations and according to relevant directives, regulations and codes of practice. It is also committed to supporting the Government’s vision for Corporate Social Responsibility in terms of businesses taking account of their economic, social and environmental impacts, specifically: 

 

  • Promoting business activity that brings simultaneous economic, social and environmental benefits. 

  • Encouraging innovative approaches and continuing development and application of best practices. 

  • Ensuring best minimum levels of performance in areas such as health & safety, the environment and equal opportunities. 

  • Creating a framework that facilitates business practices that balance profit and success with achievement of social and sustainability goals. 

  • Taking an active part in supporting the local community and social causes.

Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility 

 

Apna Research recognise that we must integrate our business values and operations to meet the expectations of our stakeholders. They include clients, staff; including contractors, investors, suppliers, the community and the environment:

 

  • We recognise that our social, economic and environmental responsibilities to these stakeholders are integral to our business. We aim to demonstrate these responsibilities through our actions and within our corporate policies.

 

  • We take seriously all feedback that we receive from our stakeholders and, where possible, maintain open dialogue to ensure that we fulfil the requirements outlined within this policy.

 

  • We shall be open and honest in communicating our strategies, targets, performance and governance to our stakeholders in our continual commitment to sustainable development.

 

  • The  Directorship is responsible for the implementation of this policy and will make the necessary resources available to realise our corporate responsibilities. The responsibility for our performance on this policy rests with all staff throughout the company.

 

Our focus:

 

  • Ensure a high level of business performance while minimising and effectively managing risk ensuring that we uphold the values of honesty, partnership and fairness in our relationships with all our stakeholders.

 

  • Our contracts will clearly set out the agreed terms, conditions and the basis of our relationship and will operate in a way that safeguards against unfair business practices.

 

  • Encourage suppliers and contractors to adopt responsible business policies and practices.

 

  • Encourage dialogue with local communities for mutual benefit.

 

  • We will register and resolve user complaints in accordance with our standards of service.

 

  • Support and encourage our staff to help local community organisations and activities in our region.

 

  • Work with local schools, colleges and universities to assist young people in choosing their future careers, being an advocate for our industry.

 

  • Operate an equal opportunities policy for all present and potential future staff and will offer our staff clear and fair terms of employment and provide resources to enable their continual career development.

 

  • Maintain a clear and fair staff remuneration policy and shall maintain forums for staff consultation and business involvement.

 

  • Provide safeguards to ensure that all staff of whatever nationality, colour, race or religious belief are treated with respect and without sexual, physical or mental harassment.

 

  • We shall provide, and strive to maintain, a clean, healthy and safe working environment in line with our Health and Safety policy and safe systems of work.

 

  • Update Environmental policies and objectives as part of the business planning cycle.

Environmental Management Programme and Objectives
 

Whilst Apna Research does not produce any emissions or pollutants that come under the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations issued by UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), our company has identified that its most significant impacts on the environment include:  

  • Disposal and recycling of waste (including paper, consumables and electronic equipment). 

  • Energy and water usage. 

  • Transport and company vehicle usage. 

  • Purchase of consumables. 

  • Maintenance of buildings. 

 Methods for meeting the objectives within the Environmental Management Programme include:  

  • Maximising the reuse, recycling and sustainable disposal of waste. 

  • Minimising unnecessary energy usage and waste. 

  • Minimising the impact of company vehicle usage. 

  • Purchasing consumables in an environmentally sustainable and fair manner. 

  • Minimising unnecessary water usage and waste. 

  • Ensuring that buildings are maintained in a manner that minimises environmental impact.

Local Community and Social Responsibilities 

 

Apna Research is proud to support local community projects as well as a range of deserving and charitable causes.

These include: 

  • Work flexibility for staff to undertake charitable work and philantrophic duties.

  • We are always on the lookout on ways that the company can play its part within the community. 

  • Undertake Pro bono publico (English: for the public good; usually shortened to pro bono) is a Latin phrase for professional work undertaken voluntarily and without payment or at a reduced fee, as a public service. By utilising the specific skills and expertise of Apna Research's professionals to provide services; to those who are unable to afford them.

 

 

Review 

 

This Corporate Social Responsibility policy will be reviewed regularly and may be altered from time to time in light of legislative changes or other prevailing circumstances.
